Are you a graduate living with a disability in Abuja (FCT) or Plateau State? Are you ready to acquire practical, marketable skills that can help you become economically independent?
Global Integrated Education Volunteers Association (GIEVA) is pleased to invite applications for its Empowering Persons with Disabilities Through Skills Development and Economic Inclusion project. The GIEVA PLWD Empowerment & Skills Development Program 2026 is a project initiative of GIEVA under its long-term project, “Educate and Empower 400 Persons Living with Disabilities”. The program aims to empower selected PWDs with skills and resources to enable them to develop sustainable livelihoods and dismantle the barriers that prevent them from being independent, while giving them the platform to contribute their expertise and perspective to the development of their communities.
Selected participants will receive:
- Practical vocational or digital skills training
- One-on-one mentorship from experienced professionals
- Career development and entrepreneurship support
- Training placement close to their residence where possible
- Certificate of completion
- Opportunity to receive startup tools or equipment (subject to funding availability)
Eligibility Criteria (Who Can Apply?)
- Persons with disabilities (PWDs)
- Graduates of tertiary institutions (OND, NCE, HND, Bachelor’s degree, or higher)
- Residents of Abuja (FCT) or Plateau State
- Passionate about learning a vocational or digital skill
- Able to commit to completing the training program

- Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Digital Skills
- Fashion Design & Tailoring
- Catering & Baking
- Hair Braiding, Wig Installation & Nail Technology
- Makeup Artistry
- Carpentry & Woodwork
- Other marketable vocational skills

This form is for Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) Higher Institution Graduates who are interested in participating in GIEVA’s Skills Development and Economic Empowerment Program in Abuja and Plateau State, from August 2026 to February 2027. The program will provide Vocational/ Digital skills training and mentorship with possible startup support. Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information. False information may result in disqualification.
- Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed.
- Ensure your contact details (phone number and email address) are current and accessible.
- Clearly indicate the type of disability and any support or accommodation required for training.
- Select your preferred skill or empowerment program from the available options.
- Attach all required supporting documents, which may include: Disability identification or medical report/ certificate, Educational or professional certificates (if available), etc.
- Review the completed form carefully before submission to ensure all information is correct and all required documents are attached.
- Sign the confirmation section to certify that the information provided is true and complete.
- Submit the completed form along with all supporting documents on or before the stated deadline. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.

SCORING INSTRUCTIONS
Applications will be evaluated using a standardized scoring system to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants. Each application will be assessed based on the information and supporting documents provided.
Scoring Criteria
- Eligibility Compliance – Meets all stated program eligibility requirements.
- Need Assessment – Demonstrates genuine need for empowerment or skills development.
- Interest and Motivation – Shows commitment to completing the training and applying the acquired skills.
- Relevance of Selected Skill – Alignment of the chosen skill with the applicant’s abilities, interests, and local economic opportunities.
- Potential Impact – Likelihood that participation will improve the applicant’s livelihood, income generation, or independence.
- Supporting Documentation – Completeness, accuracy, and validity of the required documents.
Scoring Process
- Each criterion will be assigned a predetermined maximum score.
- Assessors will score applications independently using the approved scoring guide.
- The total score will be the sum of all criterion scores.
- Applicants will be ranked according to their total scores.
- Where applicants obtain the same score, priority may be given based on additional approved criteria such as gender balance, geographic representation, severity of disability, vulnerability, or other program priorities.
- Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifying score and satisfy all eligibility requirements will be considered for selection.
Important Notes

- Incomplete applications or applications containing false or misleading information may be disqualified.
- The decision of the selection committee is final, subject to the program’s established review procedures.
